Metaldom achieves Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Management System certification 13 December 2022

The Technical Standards Institute of Costa Rica (INTECO) validated compliance with the requirements of the standards for Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems, international standards that allow companies to certify their commitment to the quality of products, safety and health of employees, environmental protection and customer satisfaction associated with the activity carried out.

"The certification of our Integrated Management System on the manufacturing and marketing process of steel products confirms our commitment to sustainability and our firm steps along that route," said Jefferson Marko, executive president of Gerdau Metaldom.

Obtaining this certification validates that the company's Management Systems are in compliance with legal requirements and seek continuous improvement.

The Health and Safety Management System seeks to preserve the health and safety of people, eliminate hazards and reduce risks, the Environmental Management System seeks the prevention of pollution and the Quality Management System seeks customer satisfaction with the quality of products and services Gerdau Metaldom is the main company in the manufacture of finished steel products in the Dominican Republic, with an installed capacity of more than one million tons per year.

The company has a production plant in the Duarte Industrial Park in Santo Domingo and also has a generating plant on the Malecón in Santo Domingo, as well as distribution centers in Costa Rica and Puerto Rico, thus serving the Dominican, Central American and Caribbean markets.
