Gerdau Metaldom transforms its online services to contribute to the mitigation of COVID-19

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican multinational steel company Gerdau Metaldom presented its new technological transformations in which through its renewed digital platforms users will be able to obtain online services.

The leading company in the Caribbean in steel manufacturing and marketing put into operation a new website, more robust and easier to navigate, an innovative customer portal and an online chat for more direct and instant communication.

These new communication and information channels are part of the comprehensive transformation that the company is experiencing, with the aim of continuing to improve experiences with its customers, as well as a response to the challenges presented by COVID-19 in terms of physical distancing.

"Gerdau Metaldom aims to build together with our people solutions that transform and simplify their lives, which is why we have managed to provide the customer with more and more facilities, information and autonomy when it comes to managing their interactions with us," explains José Miguel Vega, the company's commercial director.

The new website features a fresher and user-friendly interface, where you can view products by segments and request quotes, as well as a responsive platform to any device and a Customer Portal that will allow you to manage personalized and relevant information to your experience with the company, all this with the support of online chat via Whatsapp Business.

José Miguel Vega added that Gerdau Metaldom has been making investments and transformations in this regard for some time now, such as the implementation of "Online Payment", which has been available since last year, as well as other platforms that have been tested internally. These improvements allow them to be more competitive and focused on the customer experience, positively impacting the industrial development of the Dominican Republic.

Gerdau Metaldom is the main company in the manufacture of finished steel products in the Dominican Republic, with an installed capacity of more than one million tons per year.

The company has two production plants: La Isabela Industrial Zone and Duarte Industrial Park, it also has a generating plant on the Malecón de Santo Domingo, as well as distribution centers in Costa Rica and Puerto Rico, thus serving the Dominican market and that of Central America and the Caribbean."
