Gerdau Metaldom manages to expand international certifications of its products

Santo Domingo.- Gerdau Metaldom has just become the only company in the Dominican Republic that markets electrowelded mesh and corrugated steel wires with national and international certification.
The Technical Standards Institute of Costa Rica (INTECO) extended the certification to Gerdau Metaldom under the international standard ISO/IEC 17067:2003 for these products, as previously the company had the same certification for the production of conventional and corrugated steel bars for concrete reinforcement.
"With the expansion of this certification, we achieve a differentiating element in the national and regional market that also favors acceptance and trust by our customers. We feel highly committed to the quality of our processes and constant improvement," said Jefferson Marko, executive president of Gerdau Metaldom. The electrowelded meshes and corrugated steel wire are certified under the Dominican standard NORDOM 758/771 and the international standards ASTM A 1064/INTE C402.
Gerdau Metaldom is the main company in the manufacture of finished steel products in the Dominican Republic, with an installed capacity of more than one million tons per year.
The company has two locations and several production plants located in La Isabela Industrial Zone and Duarte Industrial Park, it also has a generating plant on the Malecón de Santo Domingo, as well as distribution centers in Costa Rica and Puerto Rico, thus serving the Dominican market, Central America and the Caribbean.
