Gerdau Metaldom explores markets in Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago

Santo Domingo.- The steel multinational Gerdau Metaldom seeks to expand its presence in the Jamaican and Trinidad and Tobago markets as part of its growth plans in both countries and the strengthening of commercial relations with these markets.

The company, which has 64 production lines with a capacity of 1 million tons and supplies 942 clients at the regional level met with the new Dominican ambassadors in those countries, so that they can contribute with local support in their respective locations and work hand in hand.

“The current government is turning its embassies around, orienting them more and more to promote the exportable offer of the Dominican Republic, generating a higher level of foreign exchange income to the country and positioning ourselves as a relevant actor that exports a diversity of products and services of quality. A vision that we share in the face of the post-pandemic recovery," said José Miguel Vega, commercial director of Gerdau Metaldom.

This multinational company is a leader in the steel sector in the Dominican Republic, with an installed capacity of more than one million tons. It has industrial plants in 10 countries on the American continent (Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Uruguay, Colombia, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, the United States and Canada).

The Dominican ambassadors Wellington Bencosme, in Trinidad and Tobago, and Angie Martinez, in Jamaica, toured the Gerdau Metaldom facilities in the Duarte Industrial Park, where company executives explained their processes, purpose, values, markets , relevant figures and their relationships with their stakeholders.
